SUNDAY SNAPSHOT (SPLIT - 4)
The Bible is so good about using EXAMPLES! (I mean…) The Scriptures never seem to gloss over any of its character’s errors… and it never pretends that the heroes are perfect! Their failures are very openly and honestly documented… and the tremendous treasure in that - is to see how God always finds a way of taking imperfect people - who are totally committed to Him - and uses them in a great way! (And…) DAVID seems to be one of the Perfect Examples of ALL that I’m talking about! There were many moments is David’s Life when he was dead ON… however there were also moments in David’s life when he was way OFF! (Sound like anyone familiar?!) In some ways… it was like David suffered from some sort of “SPLIT” Christian Personality Disorder! (So…) Since David is probably like so many of us… we thought we would take a few weeks to TALK about a few of his ON moments and some of his OFF moments - and see if we can’t learn a few things to apply to our lives! Please consider joining us the last Two Weeks as we start to wrap-up our Current Series here at COC called “SPLIT!”
Sunday Snapshot… (4) BE CAREFUL LITTLE EYES WHAT YOU SEE…
SIN ALWAYS STARTS SMALL - BUT IT ENDS UP REALLY BIG!
James 1:13-15… And remember, no one who wants to do wrong should ever say, "God is tempting me." God is never tempted to do wrong, and He never tempts anyone else either. Temptation comes from the lure of our own evil desires. These evil desires lead to evil actions, and evil actions lead to death. (This is how SIN works!)
Stage One of SIN... CURIOSITY - that leads you to think/say... "I CAN HANDLE IT!"
Stage Two of SIN... ENTICEMENT - that leads you to think/say... "I NEED THIS!"
Stage Three of SIN... CONCEPTION - that leads you to think/say... "IF I COULD - I WOULD!"
Stage Four of SIN... BIRTH - that leads you to think/say... "JUST THIS ONCE!"
