Sunday Snapshot… (4) FINANCIAL FAKERS

Proverbs 13:7… One man PRETENDS TO BE RICH yet has NOTHING; another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth.

Those who fall into the HIDDEN IDENTITY of being a FINANCIAL FAKER have this mindset in life... "I'LL PLAY NOW AND PAY LATER!" (This is a Dangerous Mindset!)

Romans 1:25… They have exchanged the Truth of God for a LIE... and have worshiped and served Created Things rather than the Creator… who is forever praised! (MONEY PROMISES US A LIE! - It's the ROOT of ALL EVIL!)

If you believe that MONEY CAN'T BUY YOU HAPPINESS... then WHY are you always thinking/believing 'JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE' might help?

When it comes to MONEY (Financial Faker) - most of us don't have a MONEY PROBLEM... we have a SPIRITUAL PROBLEM! (Meaning...) WE DON'T KNOW WHAT WE ALREADY HAVE IN CHRIST!

Genuine HAPPINESS / SIGNIFICANCE and SECURITY are found in CHRIST ALONE! (Philippians 3:7-8) If you BELIEFS change... your BEHAVIORS will follow!

Sunday Snapshot… (3) HIDING MY SINS

Proverbs 28:13… He who CONCEALS his SINS - does not prosper... but whoever CONFESSES and RENOUNCES them finds mercy!

A BRUTALLY HONEST MOMENT happens when NO ONE ELSE IS AROUND and you TELL YOURSELF the TRUTH about YOURSELF! (When that happens…) You’ll discover the DIFFERENCE between REGRET and REPENTANCE! (Godly Sorrow Leads To Repentance!)

THREE REASONS BEHIND HIDING OUR SINS....

1) DENIAL - “IF I IGNORE IT… MAYBE IT WILL GO AWAY!?”

-DENIAL is nothing more than PRETENDING that EVERYTHING is OKAY even though EVERYTHING is NOT OKAY!

2) PROJECTION - “IT’S NOT MY FAULT SO IT’S NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY!”

-PROJECTION is actually ADMITTING THE REALITY but REFUSING TO OWN IT! (So...) WE JUST BLAME SOMEBODY ELSE!

3) MINIMIZATION - “WHAT’S THE PROBLEM… IT’S NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL!?”

-MINIMIZATION is ACKNOWLEDGING THE REALITY of a SITUATION… sometimes even TAKING OWNERSHIP of it… “BUT” DENYING ITS SERIOUSNESS!

Here's the PROBLEM with continually HIDING YOUR SINS...

SIN WILL ALWAYS… TAKE YOU FARTHER than you want to GO… COST YOU MORE than you want to PAY… (And…) KEEP YOU LONGER than you want to STAY! (That's Dangerous Living!)
