Sunday Snapshot… (2) SELF-DECEPTION

Here's the Biggest Problem with SELF-DECEPTION... THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW - DON'T KNOW - THEY DON'T KNOW!

Psalm 36:2… For in his own eyes, he flatters himself too much to detect or hate his sin. (SELF-DECEPTION is a seriousproblem because you can't even SEE YOUR SIN!)

Two Major Problems with SELF-DECEIT...

The longer you View Yourself through a Distorted Lens - the more likely you are to Believe a Distorted Truth!
OFTEN (Not Always BUT Often...) The More Convinced YOU ARE RIGHT - the More Likely YOU ARE WRONG!

The Best Prayer to PRAY if you might be living in SELF-DECEPTION... (Psalm 139:23-24) Search Me oh God and know my heart…test me and know my anxious thoughts! SHOW ME ANY OFFENSIVE WAY IN ME and lead me in the way of everlasting.

Two More Essential Things to do to stop being SELF-DECEIVED...

LISTEN to Life-Giving Rebukes! (Proverbs 15:31… He who listens to a life-giving rebuke will be at home among the wise.)
When God Shows It To You... CHANGE! (James 1:22... Do not merely LISTEN TO THE WORD and so DECEIVE yourselves! DO WHAT IT SAYS!)

Sunday Snapshot… (1) HIDING FROM GOD

Genesis 2:24-25… For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. Adam and his wife were both NAKED and they felt NO SHAME! (Point...) BEFORE SIN THERE WAS NO SHAME! (SIN = HIDING)

When we SIN we begin to believe that the only way TO BE SAFE is to HIDE! It's time to stop connecting WHAT WE'VE DONE or WHAT'S BEEN DONE TO US with our REAL IDENTITY! You are a Child of God nonetheless so there’s no need to HIDE! Find your FREEDOM in Confession/Repentance!

Genesis 3:9… But the Lord God called to the man… WHERE ARE YOU? -- You think God didn't know where Adam was? (NO!) He asked… so Adam would recognize where he was!

Genesis 3:21… The Lord God MADE GARMENTS OF SKIN for Adam and his wife and CLOTHED THEM! -- God made a "COVERING" for them! He's waiting for YOU to come out of HIDING and TAKE OFF YOUR MASK!

WHERE ARE YOU WITH GOD RIGHT NOW? (HIDING?) TAKE OFF THE MASK! (Because...) The SOONER you can FIND THE FREEDOM / GRACE and FORGIVENESS (THE REAL YOU!) that GOD HAS WAITING FOR YOU - the better you will be!
